My teaching philosophies and practices are informed by ideals for equitable relations and a passion for transformative education that is grounded in feminist writing pedagogies, rhetorical genre studies, and composition theory. As a writing teacher, I try to help students understand themselves as writers who are faced with numerous complex and challenging writing situations everyday, rhetorical situations that I hope to give them the tools to effectively navigate.
